20 players enjoyed the golf course in immaculate condition at such an early stage in the golfing year. The greens were true and lightning fast - witness some of us who putted off the front of the second green from behind the pin.

We are getting better after last week's horror show and Melvin Cannell was our clear winner with 18 points. There was a log jam behind Melvin with 3 on 16 and more on 15 points.

David Forsyth was adjudged second on 16 points on extended countback from John Forsyth and Ian Tate.

And, at last we had a birdie from Brian Taylor on the 7th and he was also nearest.
