Ailsa Murphy Junior Golf Academy
With the huge success of the Ailsa Murphy Junior Golf Academy in 2023 and 2024, we are delighted to share that we have another exciting year of Junior Coaching ahead of us! Ailsa worked incredibly hard last year planning, organising, and leading 64 hours of coaching to almost 60 Academy Members. Ailsa had a fantastic supportive group of Club Volunteers who played a huge part in the success of the Academy. Without our coach’s enthusiasm, time and commitment, Ailsa would not be able to offer as much coaching.
Most of you will know PGA Trainee Frankie Masson as he helped at a few sessions last year and we are delighted to announce that Frankie will be assisting Ailsa again this year. This year, we have changed the length of the sessions for the younger members as we feel it will benefit them more and keep them more engaged. The full list of dates and times can be found below. The Senior group will now be split into 2 groups (Development Squad and Elite Squad). The Development Squad will be for juniors anywhere between beginner level – intermediate level and the Elite Squad will be for juniors anywhere between intermediate level – advanced level. The Elite Squad players must have a handicap or currently be working towards one.
The Academy will again be proudly sponsored by Evolution Bottling & Packaging Solutions who have supported the Junior Section at Peebles Golf Club for several years now. We would like to take a moment to thank Evolution for continuing to support our Juniors and for making this all possible.
Academy Membership Fees
Junior Membership will continue to be split into three categories going forward:
Under 12s: £100
Under 16s: £135
Under 18s: £160

Would you like to be a Junior Coaching Volunteer / Helper?
If you would like to step forward and support the Academy this year as a volunteer, please let Ailsa know. You will not be committing to helping every session however the more volunteers we have, the more we can rotate the rota. The one requirement to signing up as a volunteer is completing a short training course run by Scottish Golf. It’s an online course which lasts up to 3 hours. The Golf Club very generously puts each volunteer through this.
