Odd Shaped Ball Golf Day - Rules & Format

Rules & Format for the OddShapedBall Golf Day … it’s a Scramble with a twist, so have fun!

Entry Fee: £20 per Team payable in cash (all proceeds go to Junior Golf)

Handicaps: You will need to calculate your team handicap using the Handicap Index (HI) for each player and applying the following percentage reductions - 25% of the lowest HI, 20% of the second lowest HI, 15% of the third lowest HI and 10% of the HI of the highest handicapper in the group.  The team handicap is the aggregate total.

Tees: All players must play from the tees indicated.

Drives: Each player must have 3 counting drives (does not include the 4th or the 11th – see below). Please mark which player’s drive counted on your card (player’s initials).

Par 3s: Only your driver can be used for your tee shot on each of the par 3s! (or 3-wood/utility if you don’t carry a driver).

Nearest the Pins: There will be an individual nearest the pin prize on each par three.

4th Hole: Alternate shot format. Only the lowest handicap player tees off. The second lowest handicap player hits the second shot, then the third lowest player hits the third shot, followed by the highest handicap player hitting the fourth shot. Rotate back to the lowest player for the 5th shot and so on until you finish the hole.

8th Hole: Elimination Hole. Once your shot us used you are then out of the hole. The last left player in must complete the hole.

10th Hole: Straightest Drive. Individual prize for the tee shot nearest the line.

11th Hole: Alternate shot format. Starting with the highest handicap player teeing off (as above with the 4th hole but reversing the order).

13th Hole: One Club Challenge. All players must decide the same club and use that for the entire hole (i.e. if you select a 6-iron, you must each use your 6-iron for the full hole).

17th Hole: Greenkeepers Revenge. Maximum 10 shots (if you haven’t holed out at the 10th shot pick up and mark a 10 on your card).

For all other holes, normal Texas Scramble rules apply. On the fairway, place ball within 6 inches of the marker. In the rough, drop within one club length no nearer the hole.

Team Prizes:

Team prizes will be awarded to the leading teams based on nett scores.
