Results for September 26th

A wet  start coupled with an away seniors match saw only 12 players braving the conditions. There is something about hitting 80 years which seems to inspire good golf. This week Chris Beaumont repeated Jim Pettigrew's achievement of last week by winning on the week of his 80th birthday with 16 points. Youngster David Little was second with 15 points. No nearest the pin was claimed.

The JF Putter has been postponed until we can boost the number of players with the return of the senior match players.

Results for September 19th and Happy Birthday Jim Pettigrew!

Early morning mist created some uncertainty  if or when play might commence. The JF Putter competition was therefore postponed and a normal stableford substituted.

Play commenced at 9.50 and 3 groups of 4 and 2 of 3 were organised to avoid compromising the Lady's Open due to follow.

The mist cleared to another superb autumn morning very much enjoyed by Jim Pettigrew who returned 21 points, including 2 four pointers. Alister Lambie was second after a countback with George Langlands both scoring 18 points.

Birdies were recorded by Alister and David Ward Gittos at 4, and by Graham Mackie at 7 who was inches from an ace.

Jim Pettigrew was presented with a bottle of bubbles for his 80th birthday. Several ladies who were playing in the Open joined in the applause and were quite vocal in their encouragement for the players and the birthday boy!

Results for September 12th

18 players braved a chilly but calm start to the morning. The course conditions are not easy at the moment reflected in quite a few low scores. Chris Malcolm returned 16 points to claim first place and new handicap of 4. Willie Waters and Richard Edmonds both returned 15 points with Willie taking second place after countback. Brian Robson was nearest at 7.

We play for the JF Putter next week the main rule being that on the putting surface  you can use any club except a putter.  Adds to the fun!

Results for June 6th and the unfurling of the new Club Flag
