5th November - John Forsyth Putting Trophy

On a pleasant autumn morning with the course drying out 28 players competed for the John Forsyth Putting Trophy. The player with the fewest puts wins and there were some impressive low scores. The winner will be announced [hopefully] at the Xmas lunch on the 10th December.

Birdies were recorded by Ian Tate, Brian Robson and our newest recruit Alan Kelso.

15th October results

A benign autumn morning created pleasant golfing conditions despite the soaking the course has had recently.

Overall scoring was good, Bill Hardcastle winning with 20 points. Melvin Cannell and George Langlands both returned 19 points and could not be separated on countback to share second place.

We were pleased to be joined by a recuperating David W who walked the course offering some positive advice to a grateful Tony Kinder.

Results for 8th October

Despite recent monsoons and the necessary maintenance the course is a pleasure to play. Gordon Fisher again hit a purple patch returning 24 stableford points. Chris Beaumont, Brian Taylor and Ken Davie all tied on 21 points with Ken edging the countback. Gordon and Ken birdied 9 and 8 respectively.

Well done also to Ken for his winning 48 points in Tuesday's Senior stableford.

10th September Results

Despite the attraction of a Stableford comp at Monktonhall 18 players enjoyed a benign Autumn morning. George Cunningham continued his recent good form returning 20 points for first. George Langlands reversed recent poor form returning 19 points for second place, squeezing past Steve Baczkowski on 18 points.

Next Thursday is a 5 club stableford for the Ken Bowie Salver.

Results for 30th July and ceremonial raising of new Club flag

19 players braved a wet forecast which turned out to be not so wet.

There were several good scores in the 20's, Steve Farrar taking first with 23 points, Sandy Morris a close second with 22. George Langlands birdied 7.

We were pleased to be joined by Club Captain Gavin Carruthers. Gavin had agreed to a ceremonial raising of the new Club flag sponsored by the TAMS. He was joined at the flag pole by founding member Jim McAuslin and other TAMS. Gavin kindly expressed his and the Club's appreciation of the support given by the 'oldies '.

Results for 23rd July

15 hardy [fool?] TAMS decided to face the morning monsoon. Not all completed 9 holes and at least another 6 stayed in the lounge for coffee!

The wet conditions obviously suited ex Fire Chief Richard Edmonds who returned 23 points closely followed by Chris Beaumont on 21 points. Excellent scoring in the deluges.

Birdies were also recorded at 7 by Richard and by Graham Mackie.

TAMS are pleased to sponsor the new Club Flag.

Results for 16th July - updated

A pleasant morning with the course in good condition encouraged 26 TAMS out before we welcome back our block tee times next week. Thanks to Sarah and the office for their work in making the new arrangements.

Tony Kinder had his best ever outing scoring 25 points, emulating Sandy Macfarlane's score from last week. Well played Tony.

Birdies were recorded at the 7th by David Wallace and Tony Kinder and at the 9th by Sandy Macfarlane and George Langlands.

4 players returned 22 points including Steve Baczkowski, our young 93 year old, who had a 5 pointer at 9, as did George Langlands.

Graham Mackie and Ian Quigley were the other 2 members of the '22' club. On the countback George sneaked it from Steve by one point, Ian and Graham being a further point behind,.

Steve's 22 points at 93 must warrant a ball at least.!
