A very cold morning but without the forecast snow encouraged 24 players, most of whom turned up in the dark!
The frozen ground made for some exciting putting but Alistair Lambie mastered it returning 19 points, including a birdie at 9. Ian Quigley and Ian Tate tied on 18 points, Ian Q taking the countback.
Tony Kinder had a rare birdie at 5. There was no nearest at 7.
25 players turned up-it still seemed like the middle of the night-including Jim Pettigrew for his first TAMS outing.
Scoring was generally good with several in the high teens and twenties. Richard Edmonds was first with 23 points, Jim Walker beating Steve Farrar after countback on 22 points.
Ken Davey birdied 9, again no-one held the green at 7.

A cold but calm morning encouraged 14 players to shake off the excesses of Xmas and New Year. Following a recount Ronnie Watt was declared winner for the second week in a row with 21 points and an impressive nearest the pin on a frosted 7th green, again repeating last week's achievement on the big green.
Peter Barclay was second on 20 points, with Ken Davey registering the only birdie at the first.
A calm mild morning was ideal for end of year golf. Ronnie Watt continued his recent good form scoring 22 points and converting the birdie opportunity at 7 where he was nearest the pin. Richard Edmonds was second with 21 points.
A reminder to everyone that our earliest tee time is 8.42 am.
All 22 players seemed to turn up at once-and it was still dark, some electing tp play the back nine. Scoring was generally high [an unusual situation]. Ian Tate and Graham Mackie tied on 21 points, Graham taking the countback honours. Ronnie Watt had a rare birdie at 9 while Brian Taylor was nearest at 7.

19 golfers braved a snell easterly wind this morning. The conditions obviously suited Bill Hardcastle as he won with 21 points and birdied the 5th. Tony Kinder and Eric Ward both returned 20 points, Tony edging the countback. Chris Malcolm was nearest at the 7th-memo to Alistair Lambie to return the flag!
This year's lunch was also a celebration of TAMS 25th anniversary.
35 sat down to lunch including our oldest member Bob Alexander who, no longer playing, was still up to party!
Ian Quigley and Jim Walker generously put several drams behind the bar in recognition of having each achieved a hole in one [non-counting] during the year ensuring a convivial start to the afternoon.
Several members contributed stories, jokes and observations to the proceedings. Jim McAuslin proposed a well thought out Toast to TAMS while Ronnie Watt's reply for the members had the audience spellbound.

A TAMS 25th Anniversary Booklet has been published recording the history of the group and including recollections and anecdotes from some members. David Wallace did sterling work bringing this all together.
Good food, good company and good humour [with the odd dram] made for a very successful lunch-recorded for posterity by Brian Robson.
25 souls braved a cold and frosty but dry morning. Gordon Fisher, re-energised from cruising the high seas, returned an impressive 24 points for first place. John Napier took second from Richard Edmonds, both recording 21 points. Ken Davie and Chris Malcolm both birdied 9.
For the third successive week there was no nearest the pin-if we cannot hit the big green fat chance with the Winter green!
A balmy Autumn morning encouraged 24 players to the course. Three returned 22 points, David Wallace taking pole position after countback and Ken Davey easing out Andy Tucker for second. Andy birdied the 4th and 9th-David also birdied 9. Remarkably, for the second week, no-one held a ball on the 7th green so no nearest the pin!
1st November-20 played, Brian Robson returning 22 points for first place. Ian Quigley sneaked second from Ian Tate, both on 20 points. Ken Davey was nearest at the 7th.
8th November-Very favourable golfing conditions were not reflected in low scores-several players not reaching double figures! Sandy Morris was first with 22 points, Eric Ward returning 19 points for second. No birdies were recorded and, most unusual, no-one was nearest at 7.
Please accept my apologies for the late publication of the TAMS results for the past 2 weeks. David and George did send me the weekly results but I have been in China where I did not have access to emails and the internet. Normal service is now resumed!

Thankfully the recent gales had abated and we had a calm but dark autumn morning. Alister Lambie took full advantage of the conditions to post 23 points for his first TAMS win. Well done Alister. Wilson Struthers pipped John Forsyth for second place on 21 points after countback. Doug Coltman had a rare nearest the pin at 7.

TAMS result for Thursday11th October:
On a pleasant Autumn morning we had 24 starters for our stableford competition.
The competition was ferocious with a high standard of play and low scoring.
The winner on a countback from Brian Taylor was Doug Coltman with 23 points.
In a closely packed field behind our winners, Alistair Lambie was nearest at the 7th which he also birdied. Ian Tate birdied the 9th; Tony Kinder birdied the 1st and Chris Malcolm birdied the 8th.
TAMS result for Thursday 18th October:
It was cold today and we were on the winter greens. The heavy frost also gave us our first taste this winter of the build-up of ice on our shoes - some agility is required to chip it off with a 9-iron.
Nonetheless we had 27 starters and as last week the competition was once again fierce with many players scoring well.
Our winner this week on a three-way countback from Chris Malcolm and John Forsyth was veteran Peter Barclay with 23 points.
Chris was second and he also birdied the 9th. No-one got on the winter green at the 7th today.
Today was also a landmark day as we celebrated the 92nd birthday of our oldest TAM - Steve Baczkowski.
After gales and frost earlier in the week, we enjoyed a calm, balmy Autumn morning with not a breath of wind.
We had to contend with the winter coring and top-dressing of the greens, but the scoring was most impressive.
George Tucker was today's winner with 24 points on a countback from John Forsyth.
Ian Tait was close on their heels with 23 points and Ian also birdied No 7.
Graham Mackie was nearest on No 7.
We are now in our winter season and will play Stableford every week from now until the end of March 2019.
Yesterday was a 5 club stableford playing for the Ken Bowie Salver. Winner to be announced at the Xmas lunch.
The ninth was a popular birdie hole, Chris Malcolm, Alister Lambie, Ronnie Watt and David Wallace all recording 4's with David also birdieing the 4th.
Brian Taylor was nearest at 7.
After Wednesday's storm it was good to have a benign Autumn morning. Sandy Morris took advantage of the conditions to post his first win since joining TAMS with a net 29.
George Langlands was second with net 30. Ian Tate was nearest at 7 while David Wallace recorded his usual birdie at 9.
Next week is a 5 club stableford playing for Ken Bowie's salver.
An early start because of the Ladies Comp did not put off 18 players. The two K's, Tony and Roger, tied on net 33 with Tony Kinder easing the win on countback.
Ken Davie birdied 4 and 5, Chris Malcolm being nearest at 7. Net 35 was a popular score, 6 of the 18 returning this number.
A fine autumn morning saw 27 players arrive including Colin Thomas from Sydney, OZ, a guest of Sandy Macfarlane.
Chris Beaumont saw off everyone with a magnificent score of 28 points. Melvin Cannell was second on 22 points easing past Brian Taylor on countback.
George Langlands was nearest at 7 converting the 10 inch put for birdie. Birdies were also recorded by Roger Key and Warner Hardie at the first, Melvin Cannell at 8 and David Wallace at 9.
Senior moment of the day was provided by George Langlands not aware that he had left his wedge at the 4th green until David Parker returned it to him in the clubhouse.Obviously the excitement of achieving a 5 after a 5-7-blob start was too much!
We had a beautiful autumn morning with excellent playing conditions. Good scoring saw 4 players tied on net 28. A jet-lagged David Wallace squeezed first place on countback with Doug Coltman and Warner Hardie inseparable for second, Bert Cotterill missing out.
Tony Kinder had a well deserved nearest at 7 and converted for birdie. David Wallace birdied 9.
Victor McKean had his first TAMS outing as our newest Country member.
