Ailsa Murphy Appointed as Club Shop Manager

The Club is delighted to announce that PGA professional Ailsa Murphy has accepted the position of Shop Manager and will take over the running of our Golf Shop, commencing her new role on Tuesday 1st August.

The new role is part of our strategy to grow and invest in the golf shop business, with Ailsa taking on the managerial position, assisted by the current team of Bob Allan, Nigel Furness and Brian Smith.

Ailsa bring an infectious passion to the role, together with her extensive golfing knowledge as a teaching professional, as well as the experience she gained whilst working in the Professional Shop at Gullane Golf Club, serving as an assistant pro under Alasdair Good.

Ailsa commented: “Ever since Steve Johnston gave me the opportunity to coach with him at the club two years ago, I’ve never looked back! Peebles Golf Club is like a second home to me, so to be given the opportunity to join the Golf Shop team as Shop Manager fills me with so much pride. My weekly teaching hours will reman the same and I will continue to offer lessons to both members and non-members at the club.”

Ailsa starts her new role tomorrow, running the shop’s operations and working with our various suppliers, to ensure a first-class front of house service and welcome for members and visitors alike. Look out for some great summer deals for equipment, accessories and merchandise in the weeks ahead, and note that the Club will continue to price-match the major retailers for club purchases. Custom fitting can also be booked in through the Golf Shop, and we will have more of the major brands coming in for fitting days.

We would like to wish Ailsa every success in her new role as she embarks on this next chapter of her working like within Peebles Golf Club.
